Doren, I couldn't disagree more, but my experience is not your experience so I'll assume you have a basis for that opinion.

I run two Macs. My main computer is an iMac G5 running OS X 10.4.10 in 2GB. My second (read backup) computer is an iMac G4 running OS X 10.3.9 in 1GB. I have seen no such problems of crashing or choked browsers.

IMHO the pace of advance in hardware speed is on the wane. For all Mac owners running G3 or earlier systems, the time to upgrade is now. Today's systems will be strongly viable for many years to come.
