China could take over Vietnam and all countries, one by one, by democratic consent using your somewhat warped logic TJ.

Who is in favour of liberating Japan? 1.3 billion Chinese in favour, 100 million Japanese against. Well, there we go then and anyway, Japan was once part of China - check the language, inspect the DNA.

TJ, your comprehension of democracy is twisted.

Your understanding of history distorted.

Your sense of civilization perverted.

Where did you get your silly ideas about democracy and Taiwan?

I suggest going back to first principles and thinking.

The USA has a more realistic idea about democracy and it was long ago, at the start of WWII, that the sight of countries being picked off one by one was seen to be megalomania in action. I suspect the USA and Japan and others will think that your planned "democratic vote" about Taiwan is nothing more than megalomaniac bullying.

Taiwan can obviously join China tomorrow morning. All it would take, as in Quebec leaving Canada, is a majority vote for joining China. Quebec has chosen to remain part of Canada, rather than vote to be separate, or join China.

It would be interesting if Quebec voted to be part of China, and China accepted. The USA would take a sudden interest in the northern border.

Strategically fascinating.

Interesting too, if Taiwanese vote to be part of the USA and the USA accepts. That would be a lot of fun. Nyah nyah nyah to Hu Jintao...
