Ha! But on the Mac QT plays WMP via Flip4Mac - software that Microsoft supports since they decided not to write WMP for Mac anymore.

Actually QuickTime is the software of choice for the movie industry. I'd say it works very well as long as your system is up to date. It has a ton of codecs for most of the file types, particularly H.264. These same codecs might be a problem for older installations of QT. I think Microsoft is being delinquent by not including QT file types in WMP.

If you don't keep QT up to date, you'll eventually find quite a few new file types won't work. There's no excuse for not upgrading the QT Player, it's free. I aways pop for the Pro version, you can do a lot of editing with it without touching iMovie, or the 2 Final Cuts.

Another interesting note is that Jobs talked Google into having YouTube provide H.264 files for the iPhone.
