I have two partitions. But a problem.

One partition I'm running 10.3.7 on a super slow DUAL GIG G4. This is my main partition. Yes I know snail like! Yes I know 10.3.7. Ancient!

NOT!

I keep it this way because the last version of diskwarrior that runs correctly runs on this version & why should I take a risk that something important won't work if I update to:

My second partition where I run the latest 10.3.9 I believe with the latest Firefox (junk) and the latest QT which has all sorts of problems with .mpg files and .mov files which I avoid like the plague because they can trigger code that opens browser windows.

QT does all sorts of nice things but its gone downhill folks and if it continues you'll start noticing too.

As I've said authoring a movie up to the latest version is stupid unless you need the latest codecs otherwise author correctly like youtube which plays on virtually any machine. And of course is Flash/Quicktime which is now superior because...

"Flashblock"

works so well. Ahh... Flashblock blocks flash movies with a go button so you only have to watch it if YOU want to. If only everyone designed software this elegant. Does one thing. Works perfectly. Doesn't look "designy" doesn't have to because...it works.

Rant rave. But this is all about usability which has always been my thing. I hate usability stupidity.

And of course everyone knows that VLC player works better than the QT player in many respects.

Think about this. The selection arrows on the QT player consist of 9 pixels. Count em. 9. Stingy! With typical resolution on screens now probably getting near 1600x1200 why did they make em that small? Stupidity and ego problems. You almost need a magnifying glass to see em. There are some BAD designers working on QT using "cool" images to mask bad design and hoping no one will notice their stupidity.

Hey I have money on Apple. Its a good company. I'll be spending a few grand on new Apple products this year too. But QT is falling down.
