Traditionally, mutual funds do window dressing in large stock basket trades every quarter.

Window dressing is even larger business today on Wall street. Typically, NYSE trades around 2 billion shares on a good day. And Nasdaq is expected to trade close to 3 billion shares.

Market makers hold short interests as cash reserve for trading, and full service brokerage manage the short interests of their customers' stocks. Feds are now watching cash reserve liquidity with activity ready to spring into action at the overnight discount window in NYC.

The market makers are now more closely tied to CEOs to be able to cushion stock shortages, directly purchase from companies that hold treasury stock on the shelf.

Wall street is expected to move much quicker with frequent communication with companies and feds for smooth large transactions.

We expect the volatility to work out pretty soon, when supply and demand can be quickly settled by productivity software?
