Industry Leaders Join Forces To Maximize Critical Systems Availability

NETWORLD+INTEROP, ATLANTA, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Exide Electronics Group,Inc. (NASDAQ:XUPS), announced today the expansion of an existing relationship with Sequent Computer Corporation, Inc. (Nasdaq: SQNT), that will deliver unsurpassed systems reliability by providing power management solutions with high-end servers.

The relationship between Exide Electronics, the world's exclusive provider of Strategic Power Management(TM) solutions, and Sequent Computer Systems, the technology leader in Data Center Ready, high-end open systems servers, will provide customers the highest level of systems reliability and availability.

Under the agreement, Sequent will sell and market Exide Electronics'
uninterruptible power systems.

The strategic relationship pairs technologically advanced products from both companies and will provide complete enterprise-wide solutions for networking infrastructures found in manufacturing, banking and other critical business applications.
