Schwab runs a campaign including TV ads saying open a checking account with us and we'll waive all ATM fees at other bank's ATMs. So B of A raises their ATM fee to non-customers to $3 from $2.

A ridiculous fee even if withdrawing $100 IMO. I wonder what the average ATM withdrawal is when an ATM fee applies.

But really, jockeying for deposits and B of A trying to hold them, increase costs for someone trying to take them, and improve a weak quarter and bottom line going forward.
