Boston Technology Wins New Contract with Panafon to Provide Voice
Messaging Services for GSM Network in Greece

WAKEFIELD, Mass., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Technology, Inc., (NYSE:BSN), a global provider of voice and
Internet messaging systems for the telecommunications industry, announced today an agreement with Panafon S.A., through its
local distributor, Intracom S.A., worth approximately $2 million, with additional purchase options of up to $2 million, for a total
of up to $4 million. Under the terms of the agreement, Boston Technology will supply its Access NP(R) Network Services
Platforms, software, and value-added services to Panafon, the largest GSM wireless operator in Greece.

In the first installation of Boston Technology's Access NP platforms in Greece, the Network Services solution will be
implemented as the Advanced Voice Mail system to Panafon for wireless GSM service throughout the country. The Access
NP platforms will enable Panafon subscribers to receive call answering, voice messaging, fax services and voice mail
notification through Short Message Service. In addition, this platform will allow all wireless GSM subscribers in Greece to have
a personal voice mailbox that can also store fax messages. Fax messages can be retrieved simply by directing them to any fax
machine. The systems are scheduled to ship in October.

Panafon will also be working with Boston Technology's MEDALIST(R) Market Success Group which will provide marketing
services and deployment strategies to ensure a successful service launch.

Panafon S.A. is a joint venture formed by Vodafone of the United Kingdom, France Telecom Mobile International of France
and Intracom of Greece. Panafon's GSM network was launched in 1993, and its system has expanded to cover over 95% of
the population in Greece. Panafon is the largest GSM wireless network operator in Greece servicing the entire country with
over 400,000 subscribers.
