At this point in our conversation, the young teacher, in a voice shaking with emotion and with fists hitting the desktop, loudly exclaimed, "This is what I see happening in America today! People are being offered free corn by the government. People are being blind to the fences being built around them by the liberals - the socialists - and that is what frightens me! Just like it was happening in my homeland Hmmm....the free corn is socialism; it couldn't be generous tax cuts and congressional pork and generous subsidies to certain industries. Peter, for the life of you, you can't see the world view but you want me to buy into some freedom fighter's theory on socialism when any educated fool knows that what was practiced in the Soviet Union was not socialism. I have seen what seven years of what you call good governance has done to this country. No freedom fighter will convince me that that is what's best for America.
