No Democrat or liberal would call me far left. Almost all my positions would be labeled by both parties as clearly Republican. However, I don't vote for proven failure-prone and ineffective leaders. Bush can be characterized as both.

The real question isn't how a lifelong Republican can turn against a party that has lost its way. The real question is how can Republicans continue to support policies that in no way support the values of its conservative base and support leaders who have so clearly demonstrated their ineptitude.

People like you simply give all Republicans a bad name. The only hope for the Republican party is an open admission of their mistakes and a comprehensive effort to go back to its core values. But that regrouping can't begin until the Republicans admit that they have erred. Clearly, you are fringe and will never admit your mistakes. But hopefully our Republican leaders will do some soul searching and figure out a way back to the old values.
