Merrill Lynch report DTD 10/8. Comments on earnings. "We believe Sun made the quarter (.32) with little to spare, but future reports should be more robust." Also commented on lawsuit. "Seeking an injunction and damages."... "Sun is taking a risky move. If the courts don't back up Sun, We're not sure that developoers will." Then w/r/t Java prospects... "Java success is important to the long-term valuation of the stock. We believe Java may turn out to be more important in the embedded than in the computer market." R, CWDA
