>Where are you on the relaxation of weight, height, and gender requirements so that such an idea can be meaningfully implemented?<

I've been on both sides of the cops and robbers thing, and at this point in my life I'm more sympathetic to the cops, generally. However, neither side has a monopoly on anything.

As far as weight requirements and such, I don't care what gender or weight the person is as long as they have the skills to do the job. A smaller person probably would need more skills than a large person. In this case, there were a lot of large bodies involved, probably too many as they seemed to get in each others way. What I saw was a large group of people trying to escort a disruptive person out of the room. They started out being reasonably polite, as one would expect in a college situation, and the kid did not cooperate. Then, the police took it to the next level, kind of. Once they grabbed him they should have been serious about it. My criticism of the police is in the 'kind of' part. That, and the inciting a riot thing and the conversation in the hall. Resisting arrest I'd buy. Take him in and talk about it in a room at the station.

It doesn't really matter to me, I have no particular expertise in matters like this, and am only bloviating, essentially. You did ask, however.
