Greetings from the Darkside

I have now owned a Macbook (white, 2 gig, 2.16 version, 120 hard drive) for nearly 3 months. I have played with it extensively with both WinXP and Vista in Parallels and also with separate partitions. I have even played around with that new “Apple cat” coming soon.
Prior to buying, I compared pricing of hardware and Apple provided good pricing for the hardware I bought. As for the software I can honestly say I wasn’t impressed with Apple OS, I think mainly because of all of the hype I had read for the months if not years. Yes it is nice and stable, but does crash. The interface takes some time to get use to and has some oddities I really dislike. But overall it has been a good experience. Would I buy another in the future, possible, but would likely wait for a Peryn in the MacPro, I still like my Dells and might buy one of them with a Peryn and play with the various OS on it.
I bought the Mac mainly, out of curiosity and the joy?? in learning a new system. I am not disappointed but honestly I think I use the Vista OS the most of the OS loaded. I think the Apple OS was over hyped and the Vista system was overly bashed. Obviously I am still bias toward Windows considering the decades I have been using it.
As for various Apple applications none of them really blew me away. I have been playing with IMovie 08 the most, but size limitations in the importing, is a problem for me. I wish bootcamp would allow for resizing of partitions.
The new “Cat OS” is pretty, but doesn’t seem to be anything to rush out and buy, when released.
Well have a great Day!
