Too many officers have been killed by cockroaches resisting arrest. No one knew at the time this kid was only a worthless, sick bastard and not the next Cho Seung-Hui. It appears you're basing your perception of the incident on hindsight. No one knew at the time who this screaming idiot was. He was dressed in a tee and shorts........there was no where to hide a gun. In addition, he is pretty typical of a kind of college student/geek who appears at every public event ready to ask questions. They are all harmless.....looking only to get some attention. Most of the students were glad to see him taken from the podium up until they starting getting violent with him. And that's because they know you don't hurt guys like that because they are harmless.
