The state Department of Public Health is asking consumers to throw out packages of "Dole Hearts Delight" with a "best if used by" date of September 19, 2007 and a production code of "A24924A" or "A24924B." Dole voluntarily recalled the salad after it detected E. coli during a random screening of the product in Canada. Massachusetts health officials say it’s not known how much of the product was sold in the state, or in what stores it was sold. Symptoms of E. coli include stomach cramps and diarrhea.
