I forgot to mention both of these tests showed that although Microsoft Windows 95 in my computer could handle the date change, my BIOS and RT clock could not. One of these told me I could manually reset the clock but there is no guarantee that all of my applications would be able to use 2000. Being that I want to upgrade my motherboard/cpu anyway, I went to a local electronics store (Fry's Electronics) and asked about Y2K compliant motherboards and cpu's. When I asked for Y2K compliance, I was told to look for the ones that had a FX or VX chipset (for intel cpu's) Not that many of the new motherboards for pentium processors had those particular chipsets. Why would I want to buy a new motherboard/cpu that won't be compliant in 815 days?!?!? No way......not taking a chance here....
