What a dysfunctional area.

If the authorities would get off of their superior high horses and treat everyone equally this kind of thing wouldn't have happened. We don't have a large black population in my area, but we sure do have a lot of asians, hispanics and other ethnic groups. Segregating pools, cemeteries etc is just not done, and would not be tolerated by anyone I know let alone the authorities. (I guess we're more enlightened up north?)

I'm not excusing what the Jena Six did, but the situation in NO opened my eyes and made me realize that racism is alive and well in the American south.

Someone let this kind of intolerance continue and grow, and imo anyone that has should be replaced asap.

Hopefully this ongoing racism will open the eyes of the entire nation and something will be done about it.
