As has been pointed out, BCRX looked and discovered the needle length + CK line of thinking after getting the results. Stonehouse is sounding confidence mostly I think because of prior data. He is saying we know it works, look at all the history and other positive data we have. BCRX does not have drug conc. # for this phase 2 unfortunately. Instead of going down the CK path, here is another path: BCRX was good enough to provide a PDF with the CC. On page 9 you will see a plot of BMI vs. CK change for drug-only patients on the right. You can see that most of the patients were BMI <30. So what is the data for BMI <30 or <25, etc. vs. BMI > 30, etc. etc.? I ask this because management's argument is based a lot on the patient group being too fat. So seems like the first logical cut should be on BMI. So did they look or not? I know they had time to look thru the data set. Obviously if BMI data agrees with CK then it paints a very congruent picture. About BMI: If you go to the below website: nhlbisupport.com You can get an idea what a BMI = 30 person might look like by putting in some numbers for weight and height and get a BMI~30. Try both a male and a female and think about the 1 inch needle. I didn't need the website, I just had to go and look in the mirror.
