Avoid selling too soon and settling for tiny gains. Its too limiting and in the end its often unprofitable..

Allow the market to tell you when to sell.

When a stock is showing strength, consider a price pull back of lets say 20% or more to be the sell signal.

The percent pull back you decide to use should be based on the volitility of that particular market. i.e., the percent should indeed be greater than 20% for volitile stocks.

This way you will be there for the break out and long run ups that result in large gains.

My apologies for being tutorial. It stems from wanting to help.
