New Brunswick Shareholders Approve Deal to Take Company Private

EDISON, N.J. (AP) -- New Brunswick Scientific Co. Inc., maker of scientific equipment, said Thursday shareholders approved a deal to sell the company to privately held laboratory equipment maker Eppendorf Group for $110 million.

New Brunswick said 74.4 percent of its shareholders voted for the deal at a special meeting.

Eppendorf, based in Hamburg, Germany, agreed in July to pay $11.50 per share for the company. The acquisition will take New Brunswick private.

New Brunswick shares rose 1 cent to close at $11.45.
