Aus$16 Million of Equipment Sold to One Buyer; Multi-Million Dollar Auctions Also Held in Atlanta, Chicago and Melbourne

VANCOUVER, Canada--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE: RBA; TSX: RBA) conducted eight multi-million dollar unreserved industrial auctions around the world this week, including one taking place today in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Highlights from the week include a record-breaking AUS$36 million (US$31 million) unreserved auction at the Company's permanent auction site in Brisbane, Australia on September 18, 2007. Also of note: one purchaser at the public auction bought AUS$16 million (US$13 million) worth of equipment, setting a new single buyer record for the Company's auctions worldwide. Ritchie Bros. also conducted two large two-day unreserved public auctions at its permanent auction sites in Atlanta, Georgia (on September 18 & 19) and Chicago, Illinois (on September 19 & 20), generating gross auction proceeds of US$20 million and US$25 million respectively. The Company also conducted auctions during the week in Toronto, Ontario; Grande Prairie, Alberta; Melbourne, Australia; and Sagunto, Spain.
