Well, like Bill's policies or not, he was damn good, maybe even the best at diplomacy. When I was talking about people liking our President, that is what I meant. Charm is a key ingredient to diplomacy. It's amazing how logic and muscle fail in diplomatic efforts, whereas, if you can just get the other side to like you, everything becomes possible. Bush has a reputation for being likeable, but when I read the news on how he treats other leaders around the world, I just don't believe it. Maybe the common man likes him, but other leaders certainly don't. Fox of Mexico called him the most cocky person he's every met. Putin has called Bush unreasonable. Blair hasn't called Bush anything, but Blair was treated like Bush's lapdog. The S. Korean President really didn't see eye to eye with Bush in their latest encounter, suggesting Bush could be more careful with his words. Anyway, Bush scores a zero on diplomacy. We sorely need a President who can lead the world, not just the U.S. and that will require the VERY BEST diplomatic skills this country can offer. Bill could do that and so could Reagan, but can Hillary? To me, she's missing the charm factor.
