However, with the DVR hooked to the TV, I really don't use the DVDs for entertainment much at all.

this shows how much usage can vary from one user to the next. i have two HD-DVRs hooked up on my satellite TV acct, but i find more and more i am just watching movies, to the point where i feel i am wasting my money on satellite.

i like DVDs because you can watch exactly what you want to watch. for this type of watcher, DVDs are best (except for sports). other people just like to surf. for them, cable or satellite is best.

if you consider the above two types of users as being at two ends of the spectrum, it is hard to see what good Apple TV does either of them (or any of the ones in between).

nevertheless, i kind of like it.
