I wasn't too impressed with Chiang Mai. The city grew tremendously in recent years... a local guide told me that the traffic is 10 times what it was 10 years ago. The infrastructure is overloaded, there is a smell of sewage in the air from time to time. Rich people and foreigners live outside the town, but the town itself is crowded and no great fun.

Have been to Buenos Aires a couple of times... Great town. I used to tell my friends that just having a few steaks and going to a tango show is worth the trip.
