True, guys, MVP is a cool solution. But remember, in Japan more than 50% of videocamera sales are digital v'cams. Most of these are not even MPEG1. You also have to ask yourself, is a digital video MVP'd (it's a verb) from analog tape better than an MPEG1 video recorded in digital form? I know that MVP can take video directly from the camcorder, without having to record it to tape, but will most of you use it that way?

Only a small part of the cost of a digital videocamera is tied up in the encoder. With CUBE's encoders, it will be an even smaller part.

The Hitachi camera weighs 19.3 ounces. MVP alone probably weighs half that!

In short, a very small digital videocamera is different from a bulky analog videocamera + MVP, even though the end result of MPEG1 video is the same.
