I agree with raising the retirement age, and I think there would be far less resistance to that option if the population as a whole had widespread healthcare availability. the problem is that seniors prior to retirement age are stuck with individual non-healthcare and that is scary to anybody over 50. If they felt the healthcare issue was solved, and they were covered then the SS age progression would be less of a battle. JMO.

Imagine being a senior, on your own with US healthcare prior to medicare. That has to be a scary thought.
