To my knowledge, health care providers to not inquire as to a patient's immigration status nor do they inquire as to a patient's criminal backgrounds or possible fugitive status--nor to they want to do so.

Besides, fake driver licenses, Social Security cards, passports et cetera, are all too easily obtained on the street.

As a somewhat humorous aside, I remember the days/nights when I worked in a very active ER/trauma center in a ghetto neighborhood. Every time a police car would pull up, several would-be patients would bolt from their chairs or gurneys and out of the emergency room, with a degree of speed and rapidity usually seen only in old-time silent movies. - Holly
