I will give it a shot. I thought the Civil War one was boring in parts, but interesting, and the Jazz one was the most racist piece of crap I'd ever seen. Though there was some great music. According to Burns, there were no good White jazz artists, except for Benny Goodman. And he only liked Goodman because he featured blacks in his band, which was unthought of in those days.

I agree that the music industry was very biased and that it was extra tough for black musicians. I also agree that jazz was invented by blacks. But making a documentary about jazz without Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz, Bix Biederbeck, Bill Evans, Joe Zawanul, etc., was simply committing the crime in reverse. Jazz is great music, not politics.

I hope he does better with "War."
