I wonder if APPLE's chest thumping over unsafe hacks is just a veil for a stealth assault on the whole market, allowing an end run around it's contracts with AT&T. Didn't MSFT do something similar in the past? Kind of looked the other way while lots of piracy of either its OS or office suite helped establish it's market dominance, while it protested too much? (Somebody posted on this long ago here). Sure, APPLE would lose the revenues from the service contracts, but market penetration could be worth it.
