I looked these folks up and they live in Keyport, a nice, funky town on the Raritan Bay, about 20 minutes from where we used to live. Definitely middle-class, not one of your high-end places. Looking at their monthly expenses, they could probably cut back on some things, but not enough to afford private medical insurance. After my husband was laid off, our monthly medical insurance for the 3 of us eventually rose to $956/month. We dropped it and hoped for the best. CT and NJ may be battling it out for most expensive, but IMO, NJ is worse and will continue to slide.
