Ok, I'll buy that, but I guess that wasn't a very bright thing to do. Living beyond ones means never is. I object to the 'I need, want, deserve this that and the other and can't pay my bills as a result. If the government would just pay some bills for me, it'd be all right. I'm a nice person, please feel sorry for me.'

I'm sure you understand. What I really object to is not these people, they're just working stiffs doing the best they can with what they've got. It's the journalists who write the story which does nothing except foster a feeling of entitlement and discontent among their readers. It's just another example of pandering.

A good earful of Suzy Orman might help these people. The self pity never will. Articles like this serve to legitimize self pity.
