That's funny, I thought Miles never arranged or composed anything (at least anything I liked, not real fond of his later work--Bitches Brew comes to mind), but when he was able
to hold it together, was a remarkable player. I have the Mosaic box set of his Columbia recordings, and he was a tough cookie to sit down with. His comments to his side men at the beginning of some of the sessions are just plain rude and stupid.
