Ummmm.....that was dead a long time ago. You have to know which agent you're paying and what you are getting from that agent. There is nothing unusual or new about what you are saying. The listing agent gets a certain amount, and the selling agent gets the bulk of the total commission.

And I've sorta been around the real estate business for a long time, and worked under those conditions for a lot of years. All you have to do is pick up any local real estate rag in your area and figure this out.

Some sellers want more service from their agent and will pay more to get the agent's services, but there is little negotiating when it comes to paying the agent who works for the buyer, and that's usually 3 percent OR MORE. So........the total commission usually amounts to about 4.25 percent or thereabouts. NOTHING NEW HERE.

I am glad, however, that you think you are getting a bargain. I know of situations where you will not get a bargain as a seller in this scenario, but maybe you will be lucky. <<gg>>
