The iMacs are completely silent. I believe they use passive cooling only, which is possible because of their vertical, above the surface design. Even the tower computers are very, very quiet. Their interiors are designed using multiple cooling zones, each with its own fan or fans running at slow speeds. I love my quiet computers. - Allen
