Barry's West vision reminds me of the speeches politicians make while they sit in opposition. It's easy to promise the moon when delivery is off into the future. That's exactly what was done with 3G back in 2000. It sounds to me like many of the problems that WiMAX is going to solve have more to do with business models rather than technology. Given that Sprint sits on both sides of the technology fence, the premise behind his new found vision seems disingenuous. One can't really blame Mr. West for this act. He is no different than his peers. The best hype of the last year that I have seen has come out of the Cabletron guy that Nortel took on as CTO ... hyperconnectivity.com
