Maybe. Intel was committed to producing a CPU with an integrated memory controller (timna) and told the industry they were committed to the market for high def TV's with their LCOS technology (TI is STILL laughing about that one).

We'll see how WiMax works out.

Intel does very well in markets (like notebook chipsets) where they can leverage their monopoly. Sometimes even that doesn't work out (RAMBUS, anyone?)

Pretty much everything else they touch turns to crap.

Maybe it will be different with WiMax.
