”by suggesting that present day fundamentalist Christians [Swaggart, Bakker, etc.] are no worse, a proposition I find invalid from a logical standpoint but factually wrong.

Nope, that’s your spin, I’ve made no such suggestion. You presented this ‘comparison’, I propose you are making a dopey and irrelevant comparison and claiming it is some sort of equivalency. To me it has zero value.

”The debate…”

I missed it, where and when was the debate?

”The brutal aspects of Christianity have long ago passed into history.”

Christianity is not a person, it is a religious history supported by doctrine and culture, emerging from Judaism including the Torah and focused on the teachings of Jesus and Apostles. The history and culture is broad and diverse. Most Christians share essential perspectives on Abrahamic religion but specific sects, subgroups, and individuals have often interpreted the life and mission of a Christian differently. Whereas an individual may claim Christianity as the driving force in his life, his life and/or deeds may be seen as abhorrent by fellow Christians and visa versa.

”Not so the present day brutal aspects of fundamentalist Muslims in countries where Sharia has been adopted and is practiced in its original iteration.”

Ehhh? You seem very convinced, and you have photos. OK, they are probably valid. I have gone to anti-Islam web sites and seen photos from one remote region or another and read how representative they are also. That’s why I was wondering how you could stand to live around the gruesomeness of those Muslim head loppings and stoneings and such in your Iowa community.

But I see your point, those Muslim countries seem like pretty gruesome places with photos to prove it. We never see photos of gruesome crimes committed by zealous Christians right? Well maybe a few, ok maybe a lot, but I don't see the point in making those comparisons unless you are bigotted against one group or the other. I'm not.

Have you seen this?
