"Let us hope" is right, Holly! We haven't been to San Fran for several years now, because we are so disheartened by not only the loud and foulmouthed people who have to tell the world about their sex life, but just because the city was really dirty. In so many respects. We have been to Carmel-by-the-Sea a few times since, but it's not as fun to just go there and ignore San Fran....

Last time we were there, we were on our way to Singapore, so obviously that time were just at the airport. It seemed just as it usually was....lots of people and not too clean.

Then on to South Korea (whose airport resembled SFO in cleanliness) and then to Singapore....

THAT place is totally spotless everywhere. Even bugs don't dare show their heads....People were working at the airport cleaning the brass and glass at 2:30 in the morning on our way in....The streets are clean, and so is everywhere we went.... THEN back to the States and SFO....

THAT was like a slap in the face after seeing Singapore!!

There simply is no excuse for a city like San Fran to not maintain their airport nor their infrastructure. The difference was VERY noticeable.
