NEW YORK, Sept 28 (Reuters) - 3Com Corp (COMS) said on Friday it agreed to be bought by affiliates of private equity firm Bain Capital Partners for about $2.2 billion in cash, China's Huawei Technologies [HWT.UL] would take a minority stake.

Under the terms of the deal, 3Com shareholders would get $5.30 in cash per share, representing a 44 percent premium over 3Com's Sept. 27 Nasdaq closing price of $3.68, 3Com said. (Reporting by Sinead Carew)
