Vi,

The timing of this thread is excellent. This looks like the main issue which will determine our future, especially J6Ps like me, in US.

A few things do bother me sometimes, I appreciate if anyone can help me out.

Looking at the exchange rate the past few weeks, US$ has depreciated the most against Euro, but not against Japanese yen and/or against Chinese yuan. I thought, what we need really is, yen/yuan to appreciate against the dollar, not much against the Euro, IMO.

From European perspective, yes, it is good to have a strong currency especially to control inflation, but won't it affect exports? Why ECB and other leaders are keeping quiet? Is it not affecting exports from Euro zone, especially for industries like AirBus etc...

At the least, I thought, European leaders would make some noise about the rapid appreciation of their currency, but their silence has left me dumbfolded...

Gold hasn't appreciated to the extent I thought would appreciate. May be the future planned selling by ECBs is a cloud hanging on this one, all IMO.

About reported inflation, the less said the better. <ng>

just my 2 cents...
