True. But the fact of the matter is that there are places where some form of gun control is going to happen. Right or wrong.

In those places, tasers make sense. It is a good counter to someone with a gun. Probably better than a gun, given that it is easier to hit the intended target with a taser than a handgun for most people.

You have to be a registered hunter for the most part. But Germany doesn't really help your case much. They have less than 300 deaths per year due to firearms. That is better than some cities in the US.

Again, I don't advocate banning guns. I am not a hunter, but know a lot who are. I don't even oppose owning them for protection. However, I think anyone who does is morally obligated to actually learn how to use the thing and keep in practice. Trying to defend yourself with a weapon you never fired is an oxymoron.
