Your hubris about Taiwan reminds me of King George II's hubris about the rose petals and leis awaiting the COW after Liberation of Iraq from Saddam. I can't help what things remind me of.
I wonder why that sprang to mind rather than 450MHz OFDM for example. Or fighting the surf at Piha. Or chewing on baguettes full of vegetables, olive oil, camembert, tapenade etc in Saint Quentin de la Poterie. Or pondering the popes at Avignon.
Hu no doubt gets swelling feelings of pride and megalomania as he thinks of his historic win in returning Taiwan to where he thinks it belongs. No doubt the Japanese had such feelings of grandeur as they swaggered through Asia, putting it to rights, and opposition to the sword.
I wonder if you will live to regret your support of such MADness. Megaton MADness is NOT a lot of fun for those in the vicinity - which you are. Think about more sensible things.
Think of peace, light, harmony, happiness, health, prosperity, longevity, fun and love. Make that call. It will give tu and Hu something to do.
