Re: I find it interesting that this thread has moved to "Hector mode" i.e. bashing Intel rather than reveling in the latest AMD product or roadmap.

I think the people on this thread are generally passionate about Intel being a harmful monopoly, but no one so far has really given a good example of how Intel's behaviors have harmed the consumer.

The first argument is that Intel doesn't need to harm the consumer. They just need to harm AMD to be considered guilty. That's not quite true, actually. Intel can harm AMD through AMD's own flawed business plan and Intel's own flawless execution. The prosecution will have to prove that Intel's behaviors are truly preventing a good and nimble competitor from even getting a foothold in the market, and that by doing so, they are harming the consumer. People here just don't seem to get that.

Their other argument is that Microsoft has been fined by the EU, and by association, another big company like Intel should also get fined. This argument is simply flawed by the fact that there are different circumstances between Microsoft's behaviors and Intel's, and there is not necessarily any correlation between the two events.

Other than these two, I have yet to see any reasonable arguments from the opposition. Just a strong hate for Intel and a forum that acts as a soapbox for those who want to vent.
