Ok thanks for the update, so it is even worse...

(I referred to the earlier post saying: "Every child born in the United States today owes $27,000 on the national debt, why not let them come get $5,000 to grow until their 18?"...)

So the federal debt not considering social security deficits (ie, deficits in the present value of pension commitments) rather stands at 65% of the GNP.

This begs the question I often asked: could any company support debt standing at two thirds of their gross turnover, particularly with their operating margins so small (or negative like the annual federal budget after interest).
