Ahmadinejad's act....and it is an act.......has one purpose and one purpose only......to identify and exaggerate American stupidity wherever it can.

So then why are they boasting about 3000 centrifuges and why does the UN care if only the USA is the idiot on the scene?

The UN is against the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Its stance re. Iran is in keeping with that policy.

Ahmadinejad's behavior has a somewhat different context. He looks to embarrass the US wherever he can. He knows he can do that with some impunity because our military is rather stretched and Bush faces considerable anti war opposition at home because of his mishandling of the Iraqi invasion.
