"Headed by an Assistant Director with the rank of Major, there are a total of 61 sworn officers assigned to this division; including three captains, six lieutenants and eight sergeants. All members of the Patrol Division are equipped with the latest in law enforcement equipment and, as with all of our sworn officers, are required to complete annual mandatory training established through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and/or our own departmental directives."

If these are police officers in the traditional sense, why did they not lock up the guy in one of their jails? They may go through the same training as regular police officers but they do not carry the same weight.
