So kids today get too much dough via loans ? Frankly I had to work as did my wife to pay our way as the loans were just not enough to live also. For my two kids I've got more than enough stashed away to cover 2 bachelors and one Masters... at the going rate up here. I think a part time job would be good for them... but I sure do not want to have to HAVE to work for tuition etc.. My expectations are not low though... It's still not a 'free' ride with no strings, but if they hold up their end, they get a good higher education. They're allowed to make a few mistakes, that's how it works :O)

Edit: on the Chavez thing I'd have to see how it works out. My folks go to Cuba often and tell me they feel that there are many well educated folks there but no jobs or good pay for them. Of course that is not exactly all Castro's fault either. (lack of jobs)
