Your membership on SI goes back a few years and you are a recent member of this subject. We only started this subject a few years ago because some of the other political subjects got too busy to follow and or too contentious.

Though it is not always complied with, we try to keep this place free from personal attacks, instead focusing on discussing ideas. Often people have different opinions, but most people can find some common ground if they look for it.

In this way politics is unlike investing, because in investing the guy with a better idea generally triumphs. In politics it is the one who has a more bully pulpit that seems to beat down competing ideas.
