Even Deng himself said, the economy reform equals NOTHING if pollution cannot be controlled. This is exactly what happened in China.

Yes, China now has $1.4 Trillion foreign reserve, but it takes more than $14 trillion (NO, this is NOT a typo!) to clean up the polluted environment! And it take hundreds of years even if starting right now!
