In Islam - it depends if u are Sunni or Shia. Sunnis believe in 5 prayers a day. Shias believe in 3 a day. Sunnis observe Ramadan and associated Eid based on the sighting of the moon. Shias calculate it in advance and dont wait for the moon - my cousin could give u dates for Ramadan/Eid for the next 100 years with no problem.
